When she falls victim to an online scam, Amelia’s life takes another hit. Enter Paige, her new colleague who swoops in as the supportive friend Amelia has been longing for. Their daughters even hit it off, cementing Paige’s place in the family’s orbit. But while Amelia leans into this newfound friendship, things around her only continue to spiral—her career, her finances, even her marriage.
Told from multiple POVs, it becomes clear that Paige isn’t who she appears to be. She has her own twisted agenda and a chilling reason for targeting Amelia. What begins as a scam unravels into betrayal, loss, and a fight to hold onto everything Amelia values most.
This book is packed with subplots that keep the pages turning, though I’ll admit it wasn’t a “one-sitting” thriller for me—it took me about three days to finish. Still, it delivered the tension, shocking turns, and uneasy relationships that make Miranda Rijks’ thrillers so addictive.
The lingering question: Is Paige Amelia’s enemy… or the kind of friend no one should ever trust?
