You’ll Never Know – Caleb Stephens

ARC Review | Thriller | Release Date: November 18, 2025
Thank you to Caleb Stephens and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Okay, listen. I thought I was just sitting down to read about a cute couple going hiking. Fresh air. Mountains. Maybe a little nature therapy. Instead, I got betrayal, body bags, and trauma layered like a seven-tier cake.

Grant and his wife Avery head out for what’s supposed to be a peaceful weekend. She drops the “I’m pregnant!” bomb and you think, aw, wholesome. Nope. Seconds later, two guys in a black van yank her off the side of the road like we’re in the worst episode of Dateline. Grant’s left stranded, phoneless, and apparently allergic to good decisions. He’s told not to call anyone — or she dies. Simple instructions for a simple man.

The first half feels like your classic high-stakes abduction story. You’re stressed, sweaty, and maybe eating chips aggressively. And then… halfway through… Caleb Stephens just flips the table.

Avery isn’t Avery. Grant isn’t Grant.

I actually had to pause and reintroduce myself to the book because what just happened? Turns out “Grant” has been conning women under fake names like it’s his full-time job??? His last scam left three people dead — Evelyn, Ethan, and little Noah. The only survivor? Bailey. And she’s done playing nice. She’s Avery. This entire kidnapping? Her revenge plot.

And it’s deliciously chaotic. Bailey’s got her brother Ben and a PI named Zane helping her, but everyone’s got their own issues, and by the third act, it’s less “well-planned vengeance” and more “what if we all snapped at the same time.”

The ending goes completely feral in the best way. Bullets, betrayals, and Bailey finally facing the man who ruined her life. She could kill him… but she doesn’t. Because deep down she knows revenge won’t un-die her family. (Gross. Un-die. You get it.) Instead, he turns himself in and writes her one last email:

“One more thing. The most important thing. You’re safe now. No one is coming.”

And I’m sitting there like—sir, emotional damage much?

He gets 25 years, she gets her peace, and then we get a mystery woman named Olivia Miller visiting him in prison. Never heard of her. Sounds like future chaos, and I’m so in.

Final Thoughts:
This isn’t just a thriller. It’s what happens when vengeance, guilt, and trauma all show up to therapy and start arguing. It’s smart, brutal, and weirdly emotional. And honestly? If this doesn’t become a movie, I’m starting a petition.

My Rating: ⭐ 5/5
